One of the most important things a band can do for their
career is to build their Internet presence. This is supported by the very
intuitive principle that the more places you are, the easier it will be for
someone to find you. Assuming that you have already exhausted all social media
outlets, you may want to consider a Wikipedia page. There is some debate over
how helpful this actually is, but at the very least it can provide a new venue
for hyperlinks, and figuratively add ‘needles’ to the ‘haystack’, in accordance
with the principle discussed earlier. The selling point is that there is no
real downside to it. However it does come with the headache of trying to keep
your Wikipedia alive by tricking the Internet into thinking that you’re relevant.
