Many say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. Others insist that particular statement is just away of excusing a lack of creativity. In either case, it can be a great way to make money. If you find yourself to be out of ideas in terms of marketing your music, or maybe you know what to do but aren't how to go about it, take a closer look at some of your favorite bands. This doesn't mean The Beatles or Zeppelin, pick bands in your genre, preferably local and maybe two or three years more developed than yours. Look at their website and take note of what they have that you don't. Take a look at they run their social media, sign up for their newsletter. As good of a band as they might be, these are the things that are growing (or at least maintaining) their fan base. You probably don't want to copy them exactly, but if you feel like you're lost in the wilderness than look for a path, but be prepared to change course in case of bears.
