"My Back (Web)Pages"

It used to be that the only ways for someone to check out your band without spending money was by radio (via serendipity) or someone’s enthused friend with a stockpile of blank tapes. Now, we have the Internet…perhaps you’ve heard of it. As usual, the upside is more access/exposure, the downside is A LOT more competition. Because standing out on the Internet is not the same as standing out at a bar gig or music festival, you can put all your big ideas about costumes, pyrotechnics and bring-the-house-down-ironic-covers on hold and focus on the design of your website. In order to maximize your Internet exposure, you need to maximize fan access. In other words, give new potential fans everything they need to hear, see and know to devote their iPods to you forever (or until the next major leap in audio device technology).  At the same time, you also need to make sure to have all the mechanisms in place to keep your existin fans coming back for more.
